Head Coach - Erin Ruckman


Coach Ruckman attended Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and played softball for Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts.  She finished off at the University of Oklahoma and got her bachelors degree in criminology.  She has been coaching basketball and softball at the high school level for five years, and this will be her first year as a head coach.  Coach Ruckman also teaches social studies at B.T. Washington High.  She just recently got married to her wonderful husband, Matt, and she has a beautiful three year old daughter, Adison.


Varsity Assistant Coach - Nicole Young


Coach Young has been teaching and coaching for five years.  She has coached many sports including volleyball, track, basketball, swimming, soccer, and softball.  She is married and has a 6 month old daughter, Autumn.  Originally from New Jersey, Coach Young loves the New York Yankees and New York Giants.  She went to Westview High School in Avondale, Arizona where she played softball as a centerfielder and 2nd baseman.  She also attended Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.  Coach Young is looking foward to the new season and can't wait to get on the field!

 


JV Coach - Krystal Falkler


Coach Falkler played softball for nine years, and pitched for eight of those years.  She grew up in Glen Burnie, Maryland, and played for Glen Burnie High School.  After graduation, she attended Anne Arundel Community College where she played softball for two years.  Both years, her team went to nationals and took 2nd-7th place respectively. Coach Falkler moved to Florida in 2002 and attended the University of West Florida.  She majored in Biology and Marine Biology and graduated in 2004.  This is her first year teaching Biology as well as her first year coaching softball. 


JV ASSISTANT COACH - MIKE MASHBURN

Coach Mashburn grew up in Pensacola and played baseball and football through city programs.  He played football at Pensacola High School and attended William Carey College where he played baseball as a walk-on for two years. His position was catcher most of the time, but he also played outfield. Coach Mashburn was drafted in the US Army and served in Vietnam in 1968-1969. He returned to Pensacola and went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Company where he retired in 2005. He started coaching baseball in 1965 in the old Connie Mack League for high school boys and also coached at Bill Bond and Optimist Park.  Coach Mashburn's 1993 Bill Bond baseball team finished second in the state.  In addition, he coached football for the NEP Wildcats, and basketball in city leagues at the Vickery Center and Malcolm Young. In 2002 and 2003, he coached the Flyers girls 13 and under team; in 2003 the Flyers went undefeated! He has a lovely wife, Paula, five children and three step daughters.  Coach Mashburn loves to teach sports to young people.


JV ASSISTANT COACH - GABBY MASHBURN


Coach Mashburn was born and raised in Pensacola and she has been playing baseball and softball as a first baseman since she was five years old.  She attended B.T. Washington High where she played softball and golf, lettering three times for softball and four times for golf.  She graduated from Washington in 2007 and is now coaching for the first time.  Coach Mashburn is currently attending PJC and she plans on pursuing law after she graduates.
